Academic: describing a limited observation

Original sample text, with a careful edit to compare.

Before

The purpose of this paragraph is to describe the interview notes collected during the pilot. The notes cover how participants organized their drafts and comments. This small sample may help identify questions for a later study. It does not establish that the workflow improves writing quality. The analysis separates participants’ descriptions of their process from the authors’ interpretation of those descriptions.

The limited sample, uncertainty, negative finding and attribution distinction stay intact.

Clear expression at the same level of certainty.

An academic edit should help readers understand the argument already on the page. The distinction between an observation, an interpretation and a conclusion matters. Academic mode retains terminology, attribution and uncertainty while working on unnecessary framing and awkward expression.

Keep the claim at its original strength

Words such as may, suggests and could can carry a necessary qualification. Preserve the difference between correlation and causation, a limited observation and a general claim. Meaning-sensitive passages are kept conservatively rather than freely rewritten.

Retain attribution and technical language

Lock exact citations, quoted material, study labels and specialist terms that must stay. Check that each attribution still belongs to the correct claim. The tool does not look up references or verify that a source supports your argument.

Remove framing without removing reasoning

A sentence that announces an explanation can sometimes be simplified. A limitation, condition or contrasting result cannot be treated as filler. Review the structure of the argument and restore the original where an edit changes the relationship between ideas.

Before you rewrite

  1. Use a complete paragraph or section from writing you are authorized to edit. Include the relevant attribution and qualifications.
  2. Lock citations and technical terms. Start with Light polish when precision matters more than restructuring.
  3. Read the source and output side by side. Check evidence, limitations and required attribution or AI disclosures before using the text.

A few things
worth knowing.

Natural writing takes judgment.
You keep the final decision.

Will it verify or generate citations?

No. Academic mode preserves the citations and attribution in your draft; it does not check references or supply new sources. Verify citations independently and lock exact strings that must remain.

Why are some academic sentences left unchanged?

Conditions, uncertainty, comparisons and attribution can carry substantive meaning. The conservative wording guard may retain those passages. Use the Changes view to see the edits that passed, and keep the original whenever a safe improvement is uncertain.

Does a rewrite prove that writing is human-authored?

No. A rewrite or detector classification does not establish authorship. Use authorized drafts and preserve the attribution and AI disclosures required for your work.

Is the AI humanizer free to use?

The free tool supports three successful rewrites per UTC day, with 50–500 words per draft. A successful sentence-alternative batch uses one rewrite; choosing an option uses no extra allowance. Shared networks may share this limit. Failed or canceled rewrites do not use a successful-run allowance. You can review the complete result without signing in.
